JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Medical Receptionist / Optometric Assistant / Student Optician at Willow, you will play a vital role in supporting our optometrists and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your responsibilities will include a mix of clinical, optical, and administrative tasks, making this a dynamic and rewarding position for the right candidate. If you have a passion for customer service and are fluent in English and Chinese, we want to hear from you!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No relevant experience is required but prior customer service experience is needed.
  • Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
  • Has availability of at least 24 hours/week, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Administrative Duties

  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Complete insurance billing and process payments.

Patient Interaction

  • Greet and check in patients.
  • Assist patients with pre-testing procedures such as auto-refraction, fundus photography and tonometry.
  • Provide patient education on eye care such as contact lens usage.

Optical Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on their prescription and personal preferences.
  • Aid in the fitting, adjustment, and repair of eyeglasses as needed.
  • Educate patients on the proper care and maintenance of their eyewear.
