SALARY: £12.21 PER HOUR

An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Receptionist to join Orchid House Surgery in Ferndown.
We are looking for candidates with experience of working with the general public in a receptionist or administrative role, who have strong IT skills and an empathetic telephone manner. The successful candidate will be working with a friendly patient services team supporting our own clinicians and if appropriate, signposting patients to the service best placed to care for them.
Orchid House Surgery serves a practice population of c.9,000 patients. The Practice has a CQC rating of good and has a close working relationship with the Primary Care Network that provides a range of extra services that can be directly booked by our patient services team.

Responsibilities

a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d. Action or forward all incoming emails
e. Signpost patients to the correct service
f. Process incoming and outgoing mail
g. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
h. Process calling letters as requested
i. Photocopy documentation as required
j. File and store records as required
k. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
l. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
m. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare records
n. Process requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
o. Manage all queries (including administrative queries) as necessary in an efficient manner
