The Oxford County Community Health Centre (OCCHC) serves complex, marginalized populations who face significant barriers in accessing primary care with a full range of wraparound team-based services. For our Woodstock site, we are seeking a permanent:
MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST (Flexible 20 hrs. per week)
Key job functions include: answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls; make calls to clients and other agencies; receive and direct visitors and clients; schedule client appointments, internally and externally; maintain an accurate client and provider schedule in the electronic health record; create and maintain electronic client files; interact with clinic staff and perform some general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, scanning, filing and managing mail. All of these tasks are completed within organizational privacy and security policies and procedures.
Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation & benefits, including HOOPP pension.
Hours of Work: Flexible 20 hrs. hours (negotiable, regularly scheduled plus vacation coverage) between 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday – Friday, no weekends.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in Medical Office Administration or a related field from a recognized college with a minimum of two years experience in a health care and / or community setting performing similar duties OR extensive related experience without a diploma.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to be flexible.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently as well as within a team.
  • Exemplary technological literacy is a considerable asset
  • Experience with an Electronic Health Record is required –PS Suite preferred.
