OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for providing excellent patient service. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations and ensuring a smooth flow of communication within the clinic. Your role will involve handling medical records, scheduling appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth) and medical terminology is essential.
  • Knowledge of medical coding (ICD coding, CPT coding) and billing practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record management.

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed must be efficient for data entry tasks.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are required for effective patient interaction.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic calendar using EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
  • Handle medical collections and insurance verification processes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Assist with medical billing, coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT), and ensure proper filing of patient information.
  • Provide clerical support including typing reports, managing multi-line phone systems, and responding to patient inquiries with professionalism.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless patient flow within the clinic.
  • Utilize computer skills for data entry and management of health information using software such as eClinicalWorks or Renesan.
  • Support administrative functions including intake processes and customer service to enhance patient experience.
