Job Details Job Location: United Presbyterian Home - Washington, IA 52353 The Medical Receptionist at the United Presbyterian Home provides a positive and welcoming first impression for families, guests and clinical partners whether on the phone or when they enter our campus's 55-bed Health Center. This role is responsible for answering the phone and greeting visitors in the Health Center. In addition to reception duties, the position provides administrative and clerical support to nursing staff, nursing leadership and residents. Key Responsibilities: Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate personnel Greet visitors and ensure a welcoming environment Provide exceptional customer service to residents, their families, clinics & hospitals Help maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records Assist with the admission, transfer and discharge process Manage and coordinate resident appointments and transportation efficiently Prepare monthly billing items for the Main Office Help to prepare the monthly health center newsletter Deliver labs and records as needed Assist with providers that round in the facility Assist and help to coordinate vaccination clinics in the health center Assist nursing and leadership teams with administrative tasks as assigned This full-time position offers the following benefits: Health, Dental & Vision insurance Retirement plan with company match Paid Time Off and Temporary Disability $25,000 company paid life insurance policy Flex spending account Complimentary access to the UP Home Fitness Center Reduced rates for child daycare Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following: Customer service mindset with the ability to provide excellent service to clinics, hospitals, residents, and their families Strong communication skills for effective interaction over the phone and in person Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Proficiency in computer usage, including familiarity with office software and scheduling systems Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in maintaining resident records and managing appointments Problem-solving skills to handle inquiries and resolve issues as they arise Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Understanding of medical terminology, insurance and HIPPA required Experience in previous office administrative duties or customer service required Certification in Medical Office Administration preferred Experience in health care settings or long-term care preferred Strong organizational, communication and multitasking skills Friendly, empathetic and professional demeanor Attention to detail for data entry and patient information Ability to solve problems, stay calm and composed under pressure Ability to be a team player, be reliable and dependable
