Part-time AM Receptionist needed for GP Surgery in Mill Hill NW7
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 7.45 AM –1.45 PM
Experience preferred. EMIS Web clinical computer system. Patient, polite manner essential. Good telephone skills needed, also responsible nature and willing to work hard as it is a very busy post. Varied duties. Modern purpose-built surgery. Salary according to experience, but starting at £12.21 per hour from 1st April 2025 upwards depending on experience.
We are a GP Surgery providing an NHS service to our patients. We are looking for a Receptionist to work in the mornings on , Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 7.45 AM until 1.45 PM. You will also be prepared to participate in a rota to cover reception from 7.00 pm until 8.00 pm one Tuesday evening in about eight, as we open until 8.00 pm on Tuesdays. You will also be required to attend Practice Meetings monthly on a Thursday from 1.30 pm until 3.00 pm (paid).
You will need a patient, polite and clear telephone manner and will need to be prepared to work hard as the role is very busy, though interesting and varied from day to day.
You will be trained to use EMIS Web, our dedicated computer system, if needed.
We are a small friendly team, and we cover for one another if someone is on leave or away sick, so there is potential for overtime to be earned in addition to your basic wage.
Duties are as follows:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, deal with queries, make appointments,
- Provide basic information to callers and visitors
- Perform clerical duties, including photocopying and filing
- Manage and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Schedule appointments and maintain appointment calendar
- Assist with data entry and record keeping
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
You will need a GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and preferably Maths also.
It would be advantageous to have previous experience of working as a Receptionist and to be proficient in computer skills. Knowledge of EMIS Web would be helpful, but training will be given. You will also need:
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping very important
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
