Medical Records/Appointments Coordinator NeuLife Rehabilitation of Florida (NLRF) is a leader in post-acute rehabilitation and residential services for individuals recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and other Neurological Disorders. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records/Appointments Coordinator to support the clinical team and ensure the accurate handling of patient health information. Position Summary: The Medical Records/Appointments Coordinator is responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative functions related to maintaining and organizing patient records, scheduling appointments, and supporting communications between healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance providers. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update both paper and electronic medical records accurately and securely. Organize and coordinate patient appointments in collaboration with clinical staff. Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives. Answer and fulfill requests for patient information and documentation. Transcribe medical notes and ensure accuracy through collaboration with healthcare providers. Review records for completeness and notify appropriate staff of deficiencies. Use standardized healthcare codes to categorize diagnoses, treatments, and conditions. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and facility privacy policies. Keep patient medical histories current and accurate. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in medical records or health information management is a plus. Prior experience in a healthcare setting or working with medical records preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
