Medical Records Clerk
Location: Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital, Nottingham
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time
Salary: Depending on experience + Benefits
Summary:
The site on which Woodthorpe Hospital now stands has provided healthcare to the people of Nottingham since 1877 and is conveniently located towards the north of Nottingham city centre, with excellent on-site parking facilities and access to public transport nearby.
Today, we are a modern well-equipped hospital with 41 private bedrooms (all en-suite) and two operating theatres. We are constantly developing our services and are proud of our comprehensive range of specialist departments and the high standard of care that they allow us to offer all of our guests.
The role:
We currently have a great new opportunity for an experienced Medical Records Clerk to join our team at Woodthorpe Hospital based in Nottingham. Working within the busy Medical Records department you will be responsible for the preparation of patient records before and after clinics and surgery, ensuring accuracy at all times. The Medical Records team cover both private and NHS patient records. As a Medical Records Clerk you will help to maintain patient’s records, ensuring accuracy at all times.

Duties will include:

  • Preparation of notes/packs for clinics
  • Pulling of notes for theatre lists
  • Scanning in of notes onto PAS system
  • Auditing of scanned documents on PAS system
  • Dealing with enquiries into the department
  • Dealing with SAR’s (Subject Access Requests) from external clients
  • Ensuring accuracy at all times

Skills & Attributes:

  • Good time management required
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good knowledge and understanding of GDPR
  • Attention to detail is an absolute must
  • Ability to work on their own, as well as in a team
  • Computer literate
