Job Description
Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for receiving electronic faxes, scanning documents, and uploading files into the electronic medical records system under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and goal oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Responsibilities
  • Organizes and evaluates patient medical records.
  • Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for scanning and retrieving medical records.
  • Maintains a general filing system and correspondence required either electronic or written
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Handles information related to patient treatment, diagnosis, and related procedures to ensure proper coding.
  • Has a thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations and utilizes such to ensure compliance within the medical records department.
  • Assists the billing department in problem solving physician orders and Face-to-Face encounter issues that affect timely and accurate billing.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as delegated from the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Supports and executes the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively.
  • Represents themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community.
  • Adheres to dress code with a clean and neat professional appearance.
  • Reports on time and as scheduled in order to complete work within designated time.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or communicated from executive team.
