Chippewa Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is a patient-centered, private practice dedicated to providing high-quality care and exceptional service. Our team works in a supportive, professional, and collaborative environment.
We are currently seeking a Medical Records Specialist/Office Assistant who is organized, friendly, and experienced in handling medical records request fulfillment in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical records, health information, or related healthcare administrative role
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology
  • Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Review, organize, and maintain patient medical records in electronic and/or paper formats
  • Process requests for medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of patient documentation
  • Scan, index, and retrieve medical documents using EMR systems
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to medical records
  • Assist with audits, release of information, and chart completion processes
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support workflow and patient care
  • Follow up on missing or incomplete documentation
  • Assist other departments, as needed
