JOB OVERVIEW

Looking for administrative support for a Military Treatment Facility (MTF) staff and beneficiaries. The personnel shall ensure patient flow is optimized by assisting patients at the Referral Management Center (RMC) to process their referrals to specialty care and make their appointments including computerized appointment booking and appointment validation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • English Language Requirement: Read, understand, speak, and write English.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Personnel must understand the importance of deadlines.
  • Education and Training: High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • Healthcare experience/knowledge preferred
  • Completed and maintained Basic Life Support Training preferred not mandatory

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates referral management functions and ensures team members receive information promptly and efficiently to facilitate continuity of patient care.
  • Coordinates specialty care referrals in MTF or Host Nation (HN) within 72 hours according to Access to Care Standards.
  • Reviews specialty care referrals for appropriateness of medical facility, covered benefits, and administrative completeness.
  • Makes specialty care appointments in MTF or HN.
  • Assists in providing patients with specialty care referral information/instructions.
  • Serves as a functional expert in the area of health benefits.
  • Maintains and tracks referral records.
  • Participates with team members in providing, assessing, and improving various customer services/relations.
  • Assists in managing all forms of communication between beneficiaries, team members, internal staff and providers, network and outside providers, and ancillary health care workers.
  • Orients new personnel to the RMC team.
  • Prepares and submits administrative reports.
