Registrar HM26-HM30 Full time or Part time fixed term commencing at six-monthly rotation intakes Based in Community, Inpatient or Prison Services Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. Be part of a newly forming team and help shape the delivery of forensic mental health care in Melbourne’s western suburbs. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with Area Mental Health Services and other community providers, strengthen shared care partnerships, and contribute to building a new model of specialist forensic support for the region. About the role: Fixed term positions for Registrars will be available on six monthly intakes. These positions are available either part time or full time. The Registrar will contribute forensic mental health advice to multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality direct care services and programs. Applicants for this position will be able to participate in Forensicare's Training Program for Registrars, which is accredited as meeting the standards of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists for both Generalist and Forensic subspecialty training. Trainees will be allocated to accredited posts and supervised by RANZCP accredited supervisors where applicable. Senior Medical Officers with experience in Forensic Psychiatry will also be considered. Duties: Take a lead role in the assessment and management of patients and prisoners under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist Prepare and present reports to the Mental Health review Board.
