Responsibilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attending supervised Endocrinology outpatient clinics. These include General Endocrinology clinics and dedicated multidisciplinary Type 1
    diabetes and weight management clinics.
  2. Managing inpatient referrals and telephone consultations from primary care.
  3. Working as part of a team with the Diabetes Nurse Educators.
  4. Accurately recording history and examination findings, interpreting investigations and preparing management plans for patients.
  5. Timely and effective correspondence.
  6. Communicating effectively with senior medical staff, nursing staff, and other personnel regarding diagnostic requests, management plans,
    consultations, and follow-ups to ensure appropriate actions are taken. Documenting conversations with treating consultants regarding patient
    management.
  7. Fostering a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
  8. Participating in postgraduate education, attending Grand Rounds, Journal Clubs, Medical Registrar and Junior Medical Officer Teaching, and
    radiology meetings.
  9. Involvement in research projects and undertaking audits.
  10. Following defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies, and procedures related to the work being undertaken to ensure
    high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
