About the program The Working in Science Internship Program is designed for last year's students and recent graduates who want to apply what they’ve learned in a real, global biotechnology environment. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects, gain mentorship, and develop skills that set you up for future success. Department description: The Medical Monitoring Unit is a specialized department within ARDU’s Research and Development organization dedicated to the meticulous medical review and monitoring of efficacy and safety data collected in clinical trials to ensure completeness, robustness, consistency, and accuracy of critical medical data to uphold the highest standards of data integrity and maintain the safety of clinical trial participants. General hiring requirements Foundational knowledge: Basic understanding of clinical research, safety/AE concepts, and medical terminology; familiarity with MedDRA/WHO-DD is a plus but not required. Data skills: Ability to work with patient-level data in Excel or similar tools; exposure to data visualization (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau, or basic charts in Excel) is a plus. Attention to detail: Demonstrated accuracy in reviewing information, documenting findings, and following guidelines. Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable facilitating discussions and preparing summaries under guidance. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional study teams and take direction from study physicians/clinical scientists. Initiative and learning mindset: Willingness to learn medical monitoring processes, patient narratives, and quality control practices; asks questions and seeks feedback. Professionalism: Reliability in meeting timelines, escalating urgent issues appropriately, and handling sensitive patient data with discretion. Tools exposure: Familiarity with common office and collaboration tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with basic scripting or analytics (e.g., R/Python) is a plus, not required. Required skills, candidate background: Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Biomedical/Health Informatics, Life Sciences, Biostatistics). Nice to have: Ability to develop advanced computer skills to increase efficiency in day-to-day tasks Knowledge of medical coding dictionaries and conventions (e.g. MedDRA, WHO DD) Programming experience in data analysis and/or data mining set-up (e.g. Python, R, SAS) Key details Eligibility: Final year students and recent graduates.
