FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Gastro MD is a premier medical practice in Tampa, FL with a highly skilled and dedicated team aimed at providing excellence in a caring atmosphere. With expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of gastroenterology concerns, in liver and biliary tract diseases. Our doctors, nurses, and courteous staff take care of patients in a state of the art clinic. The Medical Scheduler actively supports and promotes the company’s values and will be under the direction of the Business Office Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Bilingual is a plus
• Medical scheduling experience preferred
• Medical terminology knowledge (1 -2 year experience preferred)
• Computer proficiency (word, e-mail, excel, etc.)

• Schedule procedures for outpatient facility and follow-up appointments for established patients
• Schedule in-office procedures
• Answer phones and assist patients
• Schedule radiology tests or outpatient labs needed for the patients
• Correspond via phone and email regarding outpatient schedule
• Coordinate with referral coordinator
• Abides by HIPAA laws and regulations regarding personal medical information
• Provides extraordinary customer service to internal and external customers
• Strong customer service skills and ability to provide communication effectively across multiple situations
