We are recruiting for a: Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist (Blood Sciences) We are currently seeking to recruit a Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist to join our team in our Blood Sciences Department at the Eurofins Biomnis in Sandyford, Dublin 18. CORU is the regulation body for Health and Social Care Professionals in Ireland. Any offer of employment is therefore limited by this obligation. However, if you are a new graduate of a CORU recognised BSc in Medical Science, and following successful interview/recruitment process, we can offer you a Clinical Scientist role. Upon confirmation of your Graduation and registration with CORU, and you are listed on the CORU Register as Medical Scientist, you will be appointed as a Medical Scientist. Working Hours: 35 hours p/w Job Description Reporting to the Chief Scientists and/or Laboratory Services Manager in our AutoLab (Blood Sciences), the Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist will have responsibility for performing automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analysis together with blood parasitology; Manual differential analysis and sample preparation; Clinical Chemistry and Haematology analysis. Evaluation and authorisation of results. Carrying out clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures, maintaining policies and procedures, review and update as required. While working with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department. Participate in the development and maintenance of the ISO 15189 quality management system which is patient centred and ensures quality focused results are provided for patient care and to assist in the Total Quality Improvement of the department. Qualifications Education: Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Science Required licences / certifications or membership: CORU registered as Medical Scientist or HCPC registered as Biomedical Scientist Experience: Relevant experience in a multidisciplinary medical laboratory Knowledge: Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. Skills and Abilities: A diligent, strong work ethic with the ability to work on your own initiative to ensure an outstanding laboratory service. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. A proven team player who will enjoy working as part of a close-knit team of dedicated professionals.
