GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES The Medical Scribe is responsible for facilitating patient flow and ensuring an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist the provider in navigating the EHR and entering information into the EHR as directed by the provider. Respond to various messages as directed by the provider. Locate information for review (i.e., previous notes, reports, test results, and laboratory results. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the provider. Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc. Document any procedures performed by the physician. Perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate is a pre-med student graduating with an undergrad degree and taking a year gap before starting medical school. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent Medical terminology knowledge: 1 year (Preferred) Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred) Experience working with the public in a healthcare facility setting.
