Title: Medical Scribe (Part Time/Temporary-Non-Benefited)) Job Type: Temporary, Non-Benefited Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Ambulatory Services - Survivorship & Supportive Care Time Type: Part time Weekly Hours: 20 FTE: 0.5 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Collaborates with physicians, patients and clinic staff to facilitate patient flow and ensure accurate and complete medical records. Accompanies the physician into the patient exam room to document all physician-directed elements of the patient’s visit in the electronic medical record system to include symptoms, medications, physical exam findings, complete assessment and treatment plan. Performs documentation that includes, but is not limited to; new patient notes, pre-visit intake notes, follow-up notes, consents, procedure notes, inpatient notes. Ensures compliance with all medical practices and procedures to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information. Prints and reviews past clinic notes to ensure everything needed for the next scheduled appointment is accounted for, when requested by a provider. Participates in extracting information from notes, and data collection when requested to participate in various provider driven projects. Starting hourly rate is $17.37. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's degree; or 2. Associates degree in a health related field; or 3. Associate degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a medical scribe or in a related field. NOTE: Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
