OFFERING DAYTIME COURSES ONSITE (8:30AM - 3:30PM)

The Lester B. Pearson School Board’s Continuing Education department is seeking qualified candidates for full-time and part-time teaching positions in the Medical Secretarial Studies program at the Pearson Adult and Career Centre (PACC). This program leads to the AVS (Attestation of Vocational Specialization) and prepares students for the job market at entry level.
The Pearson Adult and Career Center (PACC) is a public English vocational institution located in Lasalle, Quebec and is part of the Lester B. Pearson School Board. We offer two programs in our business department which lead to a Quebec Ministry Diploma. Business programs offered include Accounting Studies and Administrative Professional and Medical Secretarial Studies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DEP/Post Secondary Diploma in Secretarial Studies
  • AVS/ Diploma in Medical Secretarial Studies
  • Ability to interpret medical terms and establish connections between medical terms and specialties
  • Knowledge on the roles and duties of a Medical Secretary
  • Experience with medical transcription
  • Knowledge of medical forms, including CNESST & SAAQ
  • Preparation of reports by an automated system
  • Knowledge of medical file management
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks related to medical consultations
Responsibilities
  • To prepare lesson plans appropriate to the adult students concerned and the subject content
  • To pilot teaching/learning situations appropriate to the adult students concerned and the subject content
  • To evaluate adult students’ progress in learning the subject content
  • To plan, organize and supervise the class in such a way as to promote student learning
