Description Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Medical Secretary to join our front office team. This role is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, verifying insurance, and supporting daily office operations. Cross-training in other front office functions may be required. Supervisory Responsibilities None Reports To Front Office Team Lead Practice Administrator Skills & Qualifications Experience in OB/GYN or women’s health strongly preferred Epic EMR experience preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Professional, organized, and detail-oriented Essential Duties & Responsibilities Answer and route incoming phone calls Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Check patients out and schedule follow-up visits Verify insurance coverage as assigned Manage patient messages, records, and documentation Maintain accurate patient information in the EMR Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed Support medical records and other front office functions through cross-training Provide exceptional customer service to patients and staff Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred) and Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required Associate degree preferred Previous experience with scheduling, insurance verification, and patient communications preferred Customer service experience required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer in a stationary position. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period of time. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and transport up to 25 pounds at a time short distances.
