How you make a difference:
The Medical Services Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all medical appointments for patients, including clinic visits, consultations, special tests, and emergency visits. They also coordinate transportation and necessary paperwork, provide advance notice to staff of upcoming appointments, and notify staff of special orders or preparations required. Additionally, they prepare and provide a monthly report of all medical and dental appointments scheduled to administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently schedules and coordinates outside appointments with medical consultants, ensuring paperwork, transportation, and advance notification to unit staff, while maintaining a courteous and helpful attitude towards outside consultants.
  • Assists with urgent and emergency appointments/referrals and notifies appropriate staff of procedures that require preps or special instructions.
  • Organizes all consultations to the clinic, schedules appointments for each day and provides advanced notice to the unit staff.
  • Manages on-site consultant appointments and follows up on missed appointments to re-schedule if necessary, while also providing assistance to the Podiatrist and Optometrist.
  • Provides a monthly report of all medical, consultant, and dental appointments for the clinic during the preceding month to the administration.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
