Job Title: Infectious Diseases Physician – Staff Immunisation & Occupational Exposure Service Department: Infection Prevention Employment Type: Ongoing (7 hours per fortnight) The Role Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking an experienced Infectious Diseases Physician to provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Staff Immunisation and Occupational Exposure Service. This role will support the safety of our workforce by ensuring robust systems for staff immunisation and exposure management in a specialist cancer care environment. Working closely with the Infection Prevention Department, the successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of procedures that ensure staff are appropriately immunised, protected from workplace infectious risks, and managed promptly following occupational exposures. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical oversight for the Staff Immunisation and Occupational Exposure Service. Support the development and maintenance of systems and processes for onboarding new staff, ensuring appropriate immunisation screening and documentation. Oversee processes for updating and maintaining immunisation records for existing staff. Review and advise on staff who meet criteria for high-risk occupational exposures and provide clinical recommendations for management. Collaborate closely with the Infection Prevention Department to ensure alignment with institutional policies, national guidelines, and best practice standards. Contribute to policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and governance related to staff immunisation and occupational exposure management. About You Medical practitioner with specialist qualifications in Infectious Diseases. Knowledge/experience of Peter MacCallum teams, and previous experience in occupational exposure management and infection prevention. Strong understanding of infection prevention standards and national immunisation guidelines. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement clinical governance processes and systems. Excellent communication and collaborative skills, with ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
