Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical Practice and Patient Care: 1. Demonstrates advanced assessment skills. Anticipates and understands the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes. 2. Frequently acts as a resource to other nurses/colleagues regarding patient care. 3. Documents the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart) and makes suggestions regarding changes to those processes. 4. Plans and implements patient care utilizing past experience and modifies plan of care for the individual patient's needs, including input from patient/family and their goals. 5. Evaluates and promptly alters the plan of care when necessary. 6. Anticipates patient and family learning needs and collaborates with patient/family to identify resources regarding those needs. 7. Demonstrates proficiency in using AACN Synergy model in clinical practice. 8. Manages time effectively and assists others with time management activities. Leadership and Collaboration: 1. Develops or revises policies and procedures for a patient population incorporating the latest evidence-based research findings. 2. Delegates effectively and efficiently utilizing the Synergy model for care. 3. Works effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary team, which includes patient/family advisors, and serves as a resource to other members. 4. Functions in a leadership role. 5. Functions as Charge Nurse when assigned. 6. Orients staff or students as assigned in absence of designated preceptor. 7. Explores ways to improve the use of resources and cost containment. 8. Promotes cohesive team behavior among peers and provides assistance/guidance as required. Communication and Professionalism: 1. Role models effective listening skills. Achieves points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position. Qualifications: Minimum Required: Education / Experience: 1. Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND 18 months of recent nursing experience with a minimum of 12 months of experience in the area of concentration. OR, 2. Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience, with 12 months of experience in the area of concentration. Licensure - A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing. Certification: 1. BLS certification 2. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire 3. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty 4. If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire. Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status. PLAN: 1. Completion of VIP or EBP Project. 2.
