Description 7am - 7:30pm/ Full Time/ 36 Hours We’re seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical Department on Unit 3400, a 38-bed unit providing compassionate and comprehensive care to complex medical and post-operative patients. As a certified bariatric unit, we emphasize multidisciplinary collaboration to support each patient's recovery, optimize their hospital stay, and promote self-efficacy after discharge. Our diverse patient population includes individuals with gastrointestinal disorders, chronic renal disease, infectious diseases, gerontology-related conditions, and general surgical patients—particularly those in thoracic, vascular, urology, and podiatry specialties. This RN will be an experienced and capable clinician who uses sound clinical judgment, acquired knowledge, and research-based practice to respond effectively to dynamic care needs. They will apply the Synergy Model for Care to deliver personalized care, support interdisciplinary collaboration, and serve as a resource and advocate for both patients and colleagues. This individual will: Deliver safe, effective, and independent nursing care using the nursing process. Perform thorough patient assessments and recognize the impact of nursing care on outcomes. Develop and implement individualized care plans with patient/family input, adjusting plans based on patient response. Document care accurately and efficiently in electronic and physical records. Identify patient and family learning needs and recommend appropriate resources. Function in a developing leadership role, including Charge Nurse responsibilities when assigned. Assist in orienting staff and students in the absence of a designated preceptor. Identify the need for policy or practice revisions based on evidence-based research. Collect, report, and analyze clinical data to enhance care quality and meet organizational standards. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.OR Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years. Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure are eligible to transition into this role while completing the RN Resident Program. Emory LPNs enrolled in an Emory ADN program as of 3/30/2025 must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role. A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing BLS certification ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty JOIN OUR TEAM TODAY!
