Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assists in assessment of patient ability to follow directions/instructions. Assists in treatment and care of the surgical, pre, or post operative patient. Provide education involving the care and plan of treatment of the surgical patient. (i.e. proper care of wound site, bandages, sutures). Assist with execution of minor surgical procedures and services for the surgical patient. (i.e. inspect and adjust bandages needed for surgical, pre or post operative care). In the event of an emergency, apply recognized first aid procedures. Provides and documents patient, family education and teaching Greet patients and provide an initial evaluation as needed. Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs. Assist provider in examination/procedure rooms as needed. Assist in follow-up scheduling needs; assist in overall surgery scheduling as needed. Answer patient calls, questions and addresses problems in timely fashion. Communicates all significant clinical findings to MD. Serves as liaison with other departments, facilities, and hospital as needed. Assists with administrative support activities as delegated.
