To work with computer controlled medical equipment to identify Patient Identifiable Data (PID) and securely erase to an appropriate standard, such as ISO 15408 and Infosec Standard 5.
To fit replacement storage devices in medical equipment and (re)install associated software.
To perform backup and recovery of system software and re-build databases within various specialised medical software applications.
Undertake fault finding, apply suitable techniques and judgement to diagnose problems, determine the causes of faults in devices and propose solutions including for system / network issues and hardware / software faults.
To maintain detailed records of equipment defects, work carried out, components used and test results in the proprietary engineering database.
To engage with third parties to source spare parts to support repairs and upgrades plus liaise with Manufacturers for guidance on PID removal as required.
Participate in learning and development activities to maintain professional knowledge and technical competency in line with current technology and standards.
Involved in the continuous development of departmental process documentation and procedures.
To work to targets to achieve the maximum potential for the department.
