Medical Technician (MT) – Bradenton, FL Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Nights & Evenings (Rotating Weekends Required) Pay Range: $22.39 – $31.34/hour (based on experience and licensure) Overview A large acute care hospital in the Bradenton area is seeking a skilled Medical Technician (MT) to join its clinical laboratory team on evening and night shifts. This role supports high-volume hospital operations and requires strong technical expertise, independence, and the ability to work across multiple laboratory disciplines. This opportunity is ideal for experienced laboratory professionals who are comfortable working autonomously, value accuracy and efficiency, and want stable full-time employment in an acute care setting. Responsibilities Perform stat and routine clinical laboratory testing in licensed technical discipline areas. Apply laboratory medicine principles and independent judgment to ensure accurate, timely results. Follow established procedures and comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Maintain competency and licensure across Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology as scheduled. Perform non-technical duties such as specimen collection, processing, and referral testing as needed. Support departmental goals related to quality, service excellence, regulatory compliance, and patient safety. Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinical teams to ensure continuity of care. Work independently during off-shifts, covering multiple lab sections as required. Qualifications Required Nationally recognized Medical Technologist certification (ASCP preferred). Active Florida Medical Technologist license. Authorization to practice in at least three laboratory areas (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology preferred). Ability to work independently and cover all laboratory areas when needed. Strong critical-thinking skills and attention to detail. Preferred Associate Degree in Medical Technology with formal training (Bachelor’s Degree preferred). Minimum 3 years of hospital-based laboratory experience.
