We pride ourselves on our excellent patient care and exceptional staff, and we are looking to add to our team! We are looking for a MT to join our team working the weekend package. This position will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a flat rate of $1,500.00 per weekend. JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Technologist (MT) performs a wide range of diagnostic testing. The Medical Technologist brings forth the specialized scientific and technical knowledge essential to perform most analytical testing in the Laboratory. They are responsible for the interpretation and reporting of lab tests. Individuals are expected to perform some advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution; and instruct other employees. Able to assess specimen quality and test validity. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids including blood, urine and spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal and abnormal components. Able to perform high complexity, moderate complexity and waived tests. Analyzes laboratory findings to check the accuracy of the results. Enters data from analysis of medical tests and clinical results into computer for storage. Provides technical information about test results to healthcare providers and other healthcare professionals. Collects and studies blood samples to determine the number of cells, their morphology, or their blood group, blood type, and compatibility for transfusion purposes, using microscopic techniques. Handles infectious material following universal precautions. Collects blood and other specimens under aseptic conditions. Analyzes samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction. Performs documentation requirements and monitors quality assurance programs and activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results. Performs and records Quality Control data and documents corrective actions to facilitate accuracy of clinical testing and reporting of patient results. Maintains responsibility for accuracy of examinations and analysis to assist medical providers in making accurate diagnosis and management of diseases. Records accurate test results and maintains scientific laboratory instruments. Analyzes patient tests and enters results into hospital information system to generate reports for patient charts. Maintains working knowledge of all phases of laboratory work, technical and otherwise, and applies that knowledge according to CLIA guidelines. Performs and records routine daily maintenance and calibration on instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure. Operates, calibrates and maintains equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis, such as computer-controlled and other analyzers.
