Job Summary: Transcribes dictated operative reports, discharge summaries, history, physical examinations and other medical reports meeting required quality and productivity standards. Proofreads medical reports to ensure accuracy and completeness. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: * High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred * Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred * Medical transcriptionist experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: * Certified Medical Transcriptionist: Preferred Essential Functions: * Edits and transcribes reports for inclusion in the patient records. Uses department and organization databases to run reports as required. * Prepares and maintains files, keeps records and performs other routine clerical tasks. * Answers telephone, takes messages, and provides information of a routine nature. Makes appointments and serves as receptionist, as needed. * Composes and types routine correspondence. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
