While our work happens behind the scenes, it plays a vital role in helping families find answers when they matter most. We’re growing and are seeking a reliable, composed, and professional driver to support one of the most essential parts of our operations: medical transport. About the Role This is not a typical driving job. As a full-time Medical Transport Driver (Pathology) at EPIARX, you’ll be responsible for transporting deceased individuals between funeral homes and EPIARX’s laboratory location, ensuring each transfer is handled with care, discretion, and professionalism. This is a full-time, non-exempt W2 role. Hours vary based on case volume and routing needs, with paid overtime for all hours over 40. Evening, weekend, and occasional overnight availability is required. Longer-distance trips (e.g., DE, PA, NJ, NY, NC, WV) may occur approximately 1–2 times per month. When not actively driving, you may assist with vehicle readiness, inventory checks, or light administrative support. What You’ll Do Transport deceased individuals safely and respectfully using company vehicles Interact professionally with funeral home staff and other partners Maintain transport vans in clean, operational condition, stocked with required supplies Assist with transfers and related documentation during pickups and deliveries Comply with EPIARX driving and safety policies, including: Operating with due regard for safety Zero tolerance for drugs, alcohol, or impairing substances Responsibility for citations or infractions when at fault Reporting any external driving violations Occasionally support longer-distance or overnight transport assignments Represent EPIARX with empathy, precision, and professionalism at every stop Requirements What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Ability to pass background and reference checks Prior professional driving experience required Experience in funeral services, medical transport, or autopsy transport strongly preferred Comfort working in close proximity to deceased individuals Physical ability to lift, push, and maneuver gurneys safely Strong punctuality, reliability, and time management Calm, clear communication in emotionally sensitive situations Ability to work independently and responsibly Comfort with Microsoft Office/Outlook, timekeeping tools, and phone/text-based communication tools required Compensation & Benefits $20–$25/hour, depending on experience Overtime paid for all hours over 40/week Health, dental, and vision insurance Short- and long-term disability insurance Paid time off after 3 months 401(k) and commuter benefits after 6 months Meal stipend or coverage for long-haul driving shifts Opportunity to grow into a Driver Team Lead role over time How to Apply Please submit: Your resume A brief cover letter noting why this role interests you and your general weekly availability, including evenings and weekends Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
