Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Medical Virtual Assistant with a strong background in Spine and Pain Management to support clinical and administrative operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, HIPAA-compliant, and confident handling patient coordination, authorizations, and EMR documentation in a fast-paced medical environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage patient scheduling, intake, and follow-ups for spine and pain management cases Handle prior authorizations for procedures, injections, imaging (MRI/CT), and medications Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Coordinate referrals and imaging requests with facilities and providers Assist with clinical documentation and EMR updates Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, or patient portal Support billing-related tasks such as coding support, charge entry, or claim follow-ups (as needed) Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a Medical VA or Medical Office Assistant Spine & Pain Management background (required) Hands-on experience with prior authorizations and insurance verification Familiarity with pain management procedures (e.g., epidural injections, nerve blocks, RFA) Proficient in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AdvancedMD, Athena, DrChrono, or similar) Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Reliable internet connection and a professional remote work setup Nice to Have: Medical billing or coding experience (CPT/ICD-10) Experience working with US-based clinics Knowledge of workers’ comp or personal injury cases Prior experience supporting multiple providers
