Job Title: Medical Virtual Assistant — Rheumatology Position Type: Full-Time (40+ hours/week) Work Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST Work Days: Monday–Friday Salary: $7 - $8 /hour Position Code: C-SIR-2-R Workplace: Remote About the Company Provides specialized rheumatological care and treats a range of autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. Responsibilities 1. Live Scribing (real-time during encounters) Document information in real-time during encounters Send labs and medications to pharmacies Send referrals Follow up on medication and imaging prior authorizations (PAs) as needed 2. Coding Enter ICD-10 codes during live scribing 3. Administrative & Billing Support Track and follow up on submitted bills Coordinate modifications/changes as needed (billing executed by a separate company) Provide administrative support as needed 4. Prior Authorizations Support PA team for medications and imaging to prevent delays 5. Virtual Presence On-camera for the full shift via Zoom/Google Meet or a similar platform Note: Coding/scribing duties and billing follow-ups will be coordinated on a separate schedule. Qualifications Strong knowledge and experience in obtaining prior authorizations, insurance verification & medical billing. Experience in live scribing Having license as a medical coder is a plus Proficiency in NextGen is a plus Prior experience in a rheumatology practice is a plus. Able to be in a virtual video conference room for the entire shift. Familiarity with Availity and common insurance platforms Familiarity with Clinect and Broadvoice is a plus Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently Basic requirements Must have atleast 1 year of relevant work experience Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory] Must have no other clients during required work hours Technical Requirements Device: Reliable laptop or desktop computer. Internet: High-speed connection (minimum 10 Mbps). Audio: Noise-canceling headset. Video: Webcam for virtual meetings. Workspace: Quiet, professional environment.
