JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an organised, methodical and friendly person with an enthusiasm for learning to help us in our GP Surgery administration team.
This role has two components: to support the GPs with their medication reviews and to learn how to manage our incoming correspondence which includes coding information onto patient records.
Full training will be offered for each. The training is predominanetly in the form of shadowing experienced members of staff along with some online courses.

Responsibilities - Medication Revews

  • Run the blood test analyser within patient notes to determine which tests are required.
  • Request these blood tests. Contact the patient to arrange an appointment and to request anything else which is required e.g. recent weight or blood pressure.
  • Check back regularly to determine if all relevant information is in the patient notes and advise the GP so they can conduct the review.

Responsibilities - Correspondence Management

  • Sort, stamp and date incoming paper correspondence.
  • Scan documents.
  • Identify and code relevant information from documents to patient records.
  • Workflow documents requiring action to relevant team members according to protocol.

REQUIREMENTS

  • English and Maths at GCSE 4 as a minimum.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for both elements of this role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Discretion and the ability to ensure confidentiality.
