Legacy Oaks of Sacramento Assisted Living and Memory Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medication Room Coordinator (MRC) to oversee all functions related to our medication management system and medication room. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate medication administration processes and supporting high-quality care for our residents. Responsibilities of the Medication Room Coordinator (MRC Oversee daily medication room operations, ensuring proper storage, organization, inventory control, and compliance with state regulations. Supervise, train, and support Medication Technicians, including onboarding, ongoing education, and performance coaching. Ensure accurate medication administration by reviewing MARs, verifying orders, and monitoring documentation in ALIS or similar systems. Conduct routine audits, maintain required logs, and partner with pharmacy and IDT teams to ensure regulatory readiness and medication compliance. Investigate and document medication errors or incidents, communicate with providers/families, and escalate issues as needed. Manage Med Tech schedules, staffing coverage, and recruitment support to ensure consistent operational continuity. Participate in care planning, IDT coordination, and communication with families and care partners regarding medication needs. Manages the Med Tech schedules ensuring there is adequate staff coverage. Fill in as needed to cover open shifts. Assist in daily requirements and tasks as requested. Participates in new employee orientation and monthly in-services. Ensure residents are provided privacy, respect, and dignity. Follows standard precautions and infection control procedures. Completes state required training upon hire and annually. Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; LVN certification highly preferred. Minimum two (2) years of experience in senior living or a related healthcare setting preferred. At least one (1) year of prior caregiver and/or medication technician experience preferred. Prior experience as a Med Tech in an RCFE or healthcare environment required. Previous supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred. Proven experience with medication administration, auditing, and regulatory compliance. Must be at least 18 years of age. Basic computer proficiency, including use of electronic documentation systems. Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly and professionally. Must successfully pass a State of California criminal background check and complete a LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement. Must complete a LIC 503 Health Screening Report as required by Title 22.
