The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team’s success, learn about JM Family’s companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events, and much more. This is a full-time internship opportunity with flexible work arrangements based on business needs and based in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 26th, 2026 - July 31st, 2026). Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience and contributing to various department initiatives. The Meetings & Special Events Intern will support the JM Family's Executive Incentives and Travel Department in planning and executing high-quality events that align with the department’s goals and standards. This internship offers hands-on experience working alongside a dynamic team of professional event planners, gaining exposure to all aspects of event production—from concept development to onsite execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. They will have strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Responsibilities: Assist in the planning and implementation of corporate meetings and special events. Support event logistics, including venue selection, vendor research, budget tracking, and onsite coordination. Learn to navigate and utilize Cvent (event management software) for venue research, budget entry, and report generation. Research and source creative ideas for event activities, amenities, décor, and entertainment. Create, organize, and format reports and event-related documents. Assist with the preparation and shipment of event materials and gifts. Attend planning meetings, take detailed notes, and provide follow-up support. Participate in onsite event execution (including potential overnight travel during June and July). Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure seamless event delivery. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old at the start of the program. Must have a high school diploma Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Hospitality Management or Event Management from an accredited college or university, and have completed at least two semesters of academic coursework. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Professional demeanor with strong customer service and telephone etiquette. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Willingness to travel for off-site events (overnight travel may be required). Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. of event materials.
