Description

Our client, a leader in sustainable engineering solutions, specializes in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of critical water and wastewater infrastructure across Ireland and the UK. They are currently seeking a MEICA Project Manager to join their dynamic team in Cork. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead impactful projects in a collaborative and innovative environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, ideally within the water and wastewater sector.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013; certification in Managing Safely for Construction Managers is advantageous.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in the design, construction, commissioning, and process proving of MEICA systems.
  • Education: Level 8 Honours Degree in a relevant engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer status and IEI membership are preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams under high-pressure conditions.
  • Financial Acumen: Skilled in financial negotiations and final account agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Programme Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Primavera P6, with experience in creating and updating baseline programmes.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Communication: Effective communicator with strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Certifications: Full, clean driving license and Safe Pass certification; manual handling training is an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Project Collaboration: Work within a cohesive team to deliver multiple projects while fostering a “one team” culture.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards, promote a positive safety culture, and conduct regular site inspections.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with clients, designers, subcontractors, resident engineers, main contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Safety Oversight: Act as PSDP for active projects and represent the company as PSCS, ensuring all documentation is available on-site.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality and testing procedures, including FAT, SAT, ITPs, pipe pressure testing, tank testing, and commissioning.
  • Programme Management: Implement effective management practices, including Lean Construction and Last Planner methodologies, to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Team Leadership: Manage the Project Delivery team, providing mentorship and support to engineers of all levels.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project cash flow, manage subcontractor packages, and ensure the timely submission of interim payment applications.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify risks, explore value engineering opportunities, and proactively manage project outcomes.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the client’s primary contact, addressing programme, budget, and quality matters while ensuring satisfaction and confidence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Integrate lessons learned and innovative solutions into project delivery for improved outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed on industry standards and emerging technologies through ongoing CPD.
  • Business Efficiency: Contribute to business efficiency initiatives and fulfill additional duties as required.
