KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Greets guests (face-to-face or telephone) and assists with routine inquiries or directs to the appropriate internal personnel.
  • Generates sale referrals by actively promoting and cross-selling products and services to members by analyzing their needs; records all referrals and forwards to the appropriate internal personnel.
  • Supports members/walk-ins to meet with an appropriate sales representative; books appointments as required.
  • Assists members with basic banking system transactions; educates and demonstrates members in using additional service delivery channels, including technology such as Deposit Anywhere and Mobile Banking.
  • Responds to inquiries on basic credit union products and services, and identifies additional information needs; refers complex questions to the appropriate internal personnel.
  • Runs and reviews member account reports as required.
  • Drafts written and electronic correspondence and sorts/distributes mail.
  • Assists with opening/closing procedures and balancing.
  • Applies policies and procedures in daily activities to meet safety, legal and privacy requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all credit union products and services in order to foster business development through service excellence and product knowledge.
  • Provides support to other staff in the branch as required.
  • Promotes and participates in branch campaigns/initiatives.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in a customer service or administrative role.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and aptitude to learn other programs.
  • Good communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task.
  • Good customer service orientation.
  • Aptitude for numbers, with fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • Attention to detail.
