Description The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) is the leading voice for the fire sprinkler industry—advocating for fire safety, supporting our members, and promoting training and innovation across the field. Our mission is to save lives and protect property from fire through the widespread acceptance of the fire sprinkler concept. Every role at NFSA, including this one, contributes to that critical goal. The Member & Chapter Relations Coordinator leads NFSA’s efforts to educate, advocate, and legislate for fire sprinklers in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. This role serves as the primary liaison to regional chapters, manages member engagement, coordinates educational and promotional activities, and advances legislative priorities. The position combines public outreach, event management, membership support, advocacy, and administrative responsibilities, requiring strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. We’re seeking a highly organized, relationship-driven Member & Chapter Relations Coordinator for our North Central Region (WI, MN, IA). This position plays a key role in supporting NFSA’s regional chapters, engaging current and prospective members, coordinating events and demonstrations, and advancing the mission of the association. The role reports to the National Industry Promotion Director and combines public outreach, member support, event management, and administrative duties. It's ideal for someone who is proactive, community-oriented, and passionate about fire safety. Requirements Chapter & Member Support · Facilitate meetings and activities for the NFSA Minnesota Chapter and Twin Cities Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board (TCFSAB) · Organize logistics: agendas, minutes, catering, venues, guest speakers, and staffing · Manage budgets, financial reports, payments, and founding documents · Assist in recruiting and retaining members through outreach, visits, and communications · Recognize member contributions via awards, events, and publications · Maintain accurate CRM records and track member service needs Education & Events · Coordinate and present fire sprinkler demonstrations and training events · Manage the regional live-fire demonstration trailer and promotional booth displays · Support NFSA instructors and national events as needed · Engage public officials, fire service professionals, and media in sprinkler awareness efforts · Supervise two regional demonstration technicians Outreach & Partnerships · Develop and maintain partnerships with local/state fire service, building code, and safety organizations · Provide logistical support for national NFSA staff visiting the region Communications & Reporting · Produce monthly regional updates for members, highlighting training, legislation, and achievements. · Contribute articles to National Fire Sprinkler Magazine and Blogs · Submit timely expense and activity reports · Maintain regular communication with NFSA leadership QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS · Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills · Comfortable with public speaking and event coordination · Tech-savvy with proficiency in: o Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) o CRM systems o Concur (or similar expense systems) o Social media platforms · Self-starter able to work independently and manage multiple priorities · Willingness to perform light mechanical and physical tasks (event setup, trailer maintenance) · Valid driver’s license; ability to meet DOT and FMCSA requirements PREFERRED EXPERIENCE · Experience with e-mail marketing tools (e.g., Customer Insights Journeys, Constant Contact) · Background in association management, fire service, or building safety WORK ENVIRONMENT · Remote home office based within the region · Regular travel within the Region, occasional travel domestically. · Light construction with some heavy lifting. · Occasional evening and weekend events required · Flexible schedule and remote work when not traveling
