Member Data Specialist Location: Fort Wayne, IN Level: Salaried Division / Department: Sales - Member Care Reporting to position: Store Conversion & Systems Manager Travel: Minimal travel may be required for Do it Best Markets, member visits, or point of sale vendor training opportunities About the Role: The Member Data Specialist ensures smooth, accurate data transitions for members switching to Do it Best as their primary supplier or moving to an Epicor POS system. You’ll manage data extraction, adjustment, and importing to meet new system needs, working closely with members and POS vendors to troubleshoot and resolve data issues before they affect store operations. You’ll also play a key role in managing data flow between Do it Best systems and member POS systems, specifically through EDI and API processes. This involves troubleshooting and updating data files to maintain accuracy, collaborating with POS vendors to address current data issues and implement new requirements, and ensuring data is correctly interpreted within POS systems. A solid grasp of our internal data structure and its interaction with POS data like inventory, pricing, and sales will be essential to provide members with effective, seamless support throughout their transition. Responsibilities Include: * Data Conversion for System Migrations: Execute data migration processes for members switching to Do it Best as their primary supplier or transitioning to an Epicor POS platform, ensuring all data is accurately mapped and integrated * Data Flow Management: Oversee data flow processes (EDI and API) between Do it Best and member POS systems, troubleshooting and updating files to maintain data accuracy. * Data Validation and Quality Control: Validate data integrity by identifying and troubleshooting inconsistencies before they impact the POS system * Member and Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with members and POS vendors to ensure a seamless data migration experience, addressing unique data challenges and system requirements * Internal Data Structure Understanding: Develop a strong knowledge of Do it Best’s internal data structure and how it interacts with POS data related to inventory, pricing, and sales. * Member Collaboration: Partner with members to ensure data accuracy and adherence to best practices, addressing unique data challenges and aligning with system requirements. * Issue Tracking and Escalation: Record and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on member operations * Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on data processes, identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy Education and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in data analytics, database management, or IT preferred * Experience with data analysis, database management, or technical support in a POS environment * Ability to generate tables, queries, reports, and exports in Access and Excel with limited training * Point of sale software (Epicor) and/or hardware retail management experience is a plus Skills & Abilities: * Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex data processes in simple terms * Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy * Self-motivated problem-solver who can work independently * Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust to shifting priorities * Solid understanding of database structures, data manipulation techniques, and data flow processes (EDI, API).
