The Instructional Designer will support Alignment Health’s Member Experience team by leading the design and development of scalable, engaging, and high-impact learning assets that will support the professional development of our employees and Alignment’s transformational growth. This remote role is ideal for a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional with demonstrated instructional design, visual design, and content development skills. The person in this role also needs to demonstrate the ability to collaborate cross functionally in support of strategic organizational goals. Experience supporting employees working in remote contact centers and/or Medicare or a related healthcare field is a plus.
- Design, develop, and maintain effective learning assets, including eLearning, VILT, and microlearning experiences, using industry-standard instructional authoring software and AI tools to support the growth and development of Alignment’s Member Experience team.
- Create and edit visually engaging learning materials that reflect brand standards and support diverse learner needs for a remote workforce.
- Develop clear, concise, and accurate learning content supporting a variety of adult learning styles in multiple outputs and modalities.
- Apply best practices in adult learning theory, accessibility standards, interactivity, and hands-on scenario-based learning.
- Maintain content libraries and support internal knowledge management using SharePoint or other collaborative platforms.
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs), business leaders, and stakeholders to support initiatives tied to organizational growth and transformation, ultimately promoting an exceptional member experience.
- Support training initiatives that promote a patient-first culture, enhance service delivery, and improve health outcomes.
- Conduct needs assessments using models like ADDIE to identify performance gaps and align learning interventions with business goals.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements using learner feedback and operational performance metrics.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance across all learning deliverables.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated expertise using industry-leading instructional authoring technology to design and develop dynamic performance support tools for adult learners. Articulate 360 AI including Storyline and Rise, Adobe Captivate, Canva, Scribe, and Microsoft Office Suite experience is a plus.
- Strong eLearning development, technical writing, content creation, and visual design skills.
- Experience working with SCORM files and LMS platforms. Workday experience is a plus.
- SharePoint experience, including site development , administration, and maintenance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, professional learning assets branded using corporate standards.
- Proficient in instructional design methodologies, with experience conducting learning needs assessments and developing training assessments and evaluations.
- Experience designing learning assets that promote exceptional customer service in a patient-first company culture.
- Deep understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and performance-based learning strategies.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally in support of enterprise priorities
- Experience developing training for both customer service and clinical patient-facing roles.
EXPERIENCE:
- Required: At least 5 years of experience in instructional design, Learning & Development, or instructional technology or related field.
- Required: Minimum 3-5 years working in healthcare, health services, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience supporting employees in a contact center environment.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or other healthcare services for the senior population.

- Required: Bachelor’s degree or related experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- Required: Advanced/expert level skills using instructional software and technology such as Articulate 360 AI (Storyline and Rise), Adobe Captivate, Canva, Scribe, Microsoft Office Suite, LMS and KMS technology, and SharePoint or related applications.
