  Member - NSW Sentencing Council   The NSW Attorney General is calling for applications to be considered for an appointment to the NSW Sentencing Council for:   a member representing the general community      The NSW Sentencing Council advises the NSW Attorney General on sentencing matters and oversees the production of research papers and reports.   The Council is constituted by 16 members with diverse experience including judicial officers, prosecutors, criminal defence lawyers, police, victims’ advocates and members of the community.   The Council meets monthly via hybrid arrangements, either in the Sydney CBD or on Microsoft Teams.    Appointment to the Council is a statutory appointment, governed by Part 8B of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 (NSW). The Act also contains details about the constitution and functions of the NSW Sentencing Council.
