Description
The Opportunity Matter is a stealth-mode startup reimagining the backbone of global supply chains. As our Staff Software Developer, you will be our first foundational hire for the web application layer. This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role at the start, offering a rare "ground-floor" opportunity to architect a system from scratch. We are looking for a developer who understands that in 2026, engineering isn't just about writing code—it's about orchestrating AI-native systems. Key Responsibilities Autonomous Engineering: Operate as a self-directed force. You own the technical strategy for our web apps, identifying and solving architectural challenges before they impact the roadmap. Headless & API-First Architecture: Design and build a decoupled environment using headless frameworks (Next.js, Strapi, etc.). You will create a centralized API repository that allows our platform to "pull" tools and data to provide intelligent outputs. AI-Native Workflow: Leverage AI (Cursor, Copilot, custom LLMs) to accelerate the build. You’ll be responsible for integrating AI into the platform’s core functionality, moving beyond simple automation to predictive system behavior. Full-Stack Ownership: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of web applications, from high-performance backends to responsive, data-rich frontends. Skills & Qualifications Experience: 4+ years of professional software engineering in an enterprise or high-growth environment. Technical Breadth: Mastery of modern frontend/backend stacks and a deep understanding of Headless CMS and API orchestration. Autonomy: Proven ability to thrive in a stealth environment with minimal supervision. Location: SF Bay Area preferred (Menlo Park office) to be close to the action. We are also open to remote candidates with a stellar track record of autonomous delivery. Immigration: H-1B friendly. We value talent over paperwork and provide full support for visa transfers and green card processing.
Responsibilities
The Staff Software Developer will operate autonomously, owning the technical strategy for web applications and addressing architectural challenges. They will design and build a headless and API-first architecture while integrating AI into the platform's core functionality.
