  JOB PURPOSE   The Member Retention & Marketing Automation Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase member retention, improve engagement, and maximize lifetime value through marketing automation, data-driven campaigns, and member experience optimization.    This role exists to ensure Right to Bear Association scales efficiently by reducing churn, improving renewals, and building automated systems that support members, partners, and internal teams. A core function of this role is also to oversee the strategic development and management of the RTBA Member Portal as a central engagement platform. This position blends strategic planning with hands-on execution across retention, CRM systems, email marketing, and digital member experience.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   1. Member Retention Strategy & Churn Reduction * Develop, implement, and manage retention strategies designed to reduce churn and increase renewals. * Create automated renewal, cancellation-prevention, and re-engagement campaigns. * Monitor retention metrics, churn rates, and member satisfaction data. 2. Email Marketing & Campaign Execution * Plan, build, and execute onboarding, educational, renewal, and upsell email campaigns. * Manage the monthly member newsletter and benefit-education sequences. 3. CRM & Marketing Automation Management * Build and maintain automated workflows for members, prospects, affiliates, and partners. * Maintain accurate segmentation by plan type, geography, engagement behavior, and lifecycle stage. 4. Member Portal Strategy & Oversight * Lead the strategic development and ongoing optimization of the RTBA Member Portal. * Define the roadmap, feature priorities, and engagement objectives for the portal. * Oversee organization, tagging, and lifecycle management of all portal content. 5. Data Analysis, Reporting & Executive Support * Produce regular reports on retention performance, campaign outcomes, and portal engagement. * Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on behavioral and performance data. 6. Other             All other duties, as assigned   QUALIFICATIONS   Education * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required. * Master’s degree preferred but not required. Experience * 5–7 years of experience in retention marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM administration, or marketing automation. * Experience working in subscription-based, membership-based, financial, insurance, or benefits organizations strongly preferred. Specialized Knowledge & Skills * Advanced proficiency in HubSpot or comparable CRM/marketing automation platforms. * Strong knowledge of email marketing best practices and segmentation strategies. Abilities & Personal Characteristics * Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills. * Organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven.   WORKING CONDITIONS   Primarily office-based or hybrid work environment. Prolonged periods working at a desk and on a computer. Regular interaction with internal teams, leadership, and technology platforms. Occasional extended hours may be required during major launches or campaigns.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone. Ability to view screens for long durations and perform repetitive hand motions.
