Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Branch Manager, performs a variety of member service duties to insure the ongoing effectiveness of member service in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities: Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the members served by the Credit Union. Essential Functions: 1. Represents the credit union to members in a courteous and professional manner and provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the handling of members’ needs. 2. Contributes to a positive work environment and SMCU image by maintaining courteous, respectful and effective interaction, teamwork and communication with employees and members to enhance positive behaviors and employee satisfaction. 3. Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned sales and service goals 4. Provides a superior member experience by actively listening and assessing the needs of the member and offering targeted solutions to these needs.  Actively cross sells and provides product guidance to members. 5. Assists members in opening saving and checking accounts, certificates of deposit, IRA’s, bonds, debit cards, wire transfers, etc.   Assists with a wide variety of transactions.  Processes necessary paperwork and enters information in the computer system utilizing multiple software programs.  Assists members with any problems on existing accounts.  Performs file maintenance of member account information on computer and processes other requests. 6. Adheres to and keeps current of compliance standards and procedures. 7. Interviews and completes loan applications for Credit Union member’s consumer loans.  Closes approved loans according to proper procedures. 8. May act in the capacity of a teller as needed. 9. Keeps current of the various products and services offered by attending product knowledge and related training sessions. 10. Provides service to our membership communities by actively volunteering time to local civic and charitable organizations. Other Functions: 1. Performs related member service duties as may be assigned or requested. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent plus specialized coursework in retail services.  One-year previous experience as a teller or in a customer service role.  Good organizational and communication skills.   Attention to detail required.   Ability to utilize various types of office equipment, including computer terminal.
