Description
M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Located in Hong Kong’s WestK, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world. The museum reflects our unique time and place, building on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and the international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century. You will be responsible for: creating a welcoming environment for the members consistently by greeting and assisting as well as responding quickly to member’s inquiries and needs, including both onsite and call; checking and verifying member’s membership at counter and lounge; approaching guests to introduce M+ Membership and encouraging them to join the membership programmes; handling non-cash transactions, e.g. membership enrollment, renewal, upgrade, ticket conversion; proactively provide and introduce M+ membership to guests; centalising, handling and resolving all enquiries including complaints from members and inform Supervisor or Manager in charge of unusual or unresolved issues; performing customer services duties in cloak room / reception / galleries / learning hub / moving image centre, member’s lounge or other locations as assigned by supervisors when necessary; supporting crowd management, facilitating guests the understanding of house rules and importance of artwork protection, handling customer inquiries and complaints; guiding and encouraging guests to experience events or activities happening in various museum spaces; following institutional uniform, health and safety guidelines; and performing other ad hoc duties as and when required. You should: possess higher diploma or above in any disciplines; have 1 to 2 years of relevant experience; have experience in operations or customer-facing or event support experience with an understanding of basic public safety needs, preferably in cultural venue; possess approachable personality with positive attitude; a good team player and be adaptive to dynamic environment; be proactive and have excellent interpersonal skills; possess first aid and AED qualification is an advantage; have excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Chinese and Putonghua; proficiency in other languages is an advantage; be able to work at least 2 days per week; be able to work on shifts including weekends, holidays, late evenings shift according to a roster that is determined by the Authority and actual work schedule and number of work days per week depend on workload demand; and be willing to work at different spaces in the museum including outdoor location; prolonged standing and physical lifting may be required.
