Description Membership & Enrollment Specialist (MES) (Full-time, 40 hours) Non Exempt BUILD, Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed, self-motivated, and innovative individual to join our team. This position serves as the primary point of entry to BUILD programs and services, guiding participants through the membership, registration, and enrollment process with care, clarity, and professionalism. By combining strong customer service with excellent administrative systems, the Membership & Enrollment Specialist ensures accurate data, smooth intake processes, and consistent communication with families. As a visible and trusted presence on campus, this role supports a positive campus culture and helps connect community members to programs and resources that enable them to connect, overcome, and thrive. The Membership & Enrollment Specialist is a key member of the Campus Enrichment Team and contributes directly to BUILD’s mission and community impact. The Membership & Enrollment Specialist reports directly to the Senior Manager of Campus Programs (SMCP). Membership, Enrollment & Administration Serve as the lead for registration, intake, and enrollment for all BUILD youth and community programs. Ensure all required intake paperwork, permissions, and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain up-to-date participant rosters and ensure attendance and enrollment data are accurately entered into BUILD’s data systems. Create, distribute, and track membership cards; manage replacements as needed. Collect, record, and track program fees while maintaining accurate and confidential payment records. Coordinate outreach efforts and maintain current mailing, email, and text message lists. Conduct proactive outreach to participants and families to confirm enrollment, encourage attendance, and support retention. Manage food ordering and delivery for youth participating in after-school programming. Customer Service & Campus Engagement Provide exceptional customer service to youth, families, and community members, ensuring all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and supported. Serve as a consistent, friendly point of contact at the registration desk and during program hours. Greet participants and families upon arrival and provide clear information about BUILD programs, services, schedules, and requirements. Respond to questions and concerns related to eligibility, enrollment, attendance, and participation, connecting individuals to appropriate BUILD staff and resources as needed. Conduct outreach at BUILD events and on campus to engage community members and promote enrollment in programs and services. Support a positive campus culture by modeling professionalism, warmth, and alignment with BUILD’s values. Work a later shift (1:00 PM–9:00 PM) to ensure availability during after-school and evening programming, with occasional weekend hours as needed. Requirements 2 years of experience working with youth in educational, nonprofit, or community-based settings. Demonstrated experience providing customer service and administrative support. Knowledge of restorative justice principles, trauma-informed care, and positive behavior strategies preferred. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends. Must be able to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check. Strong alignment with BUILD’s mission of supporting youth and families to connect, overcome, and thrive. Skills + Attributes: Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage youth, families, and community members from diverse backgrounds. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple administrative processes simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed. Comfort working in a fast-paced, community-centered environment. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.?
