The University of Jamestown seeks a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men’s Wrestling program. The candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills along with the ability to show mature and responsible leadership and work well in a team environment. Qualifications Must be accepted as a full-time, degree-seeking student in the UJ Master of Arts in Leadership graduate program including having completed a Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the University of Jamestown. Demonstrate ability to be self-motivated, self-reflective, and to conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Wrestling experience as a collegiate student-athlete and/or experience coaching is preferred. Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license endorsement to assist with team travel. Duties Include Practice: Assist in organization, scheduling, and running practices. Communication: Manage team social media and external communication. Recruiting: Identify and communicate with prospects, travel to competitions, conduct campus visits. Fundraising: Assist in team events to grow knowledge of, and support for, the program. Coaching: Assist with individual and team practices, competitions, and team functions. Other duties include assisting with scheduling, academic support, strength and conditioning, and more. Terms of Agreement: Two-year consecutive commitment running August 1 – May 31. Must maintain passing grades in enrolled Master of Arts in Leadership coursework. Full graduate tuition for the Master of Arts in Leadership program. On-Campus housing. Meal plan selection from one of four meal plans offerings. Team/Coaching uniforms. The University of Jamestown currently competes in the NAIA as a part of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the wrestling team will compete in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2024-2025. Jimmie Athletics is in the process of transitioning to NCAA DII and competing in the North Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Established as Jamestown College in 1883 by members of the Presbyterian Church, the University of Jamestown is a private, liberal arts university granting Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees at the undergraduate level, master’s degrees in Education, Leadership, and Clinical Counseling, and doctoral degrees in Physical Therapy (DPT) and Clinical Research (PhD).
