Join us at Birkbeck, University of London, as a Mental Health Advice Manager. Our institution is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students and you will play a pivotal role in managing our Mental Health team to ensure high-quality mental health support and interventions.
This role is offered as a full-time, permanent contract on a salary of £51,000 rising to £60,018 per year.

Joining our Wellbeing Services, as Mental Health Advice Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of Mental Health Advisors to provide specialist practical, psychological, and disability-related support to vulnerable students with mental health conditions, autism and comorbid disabilities.
  • Responding to mental health crises and safeguarding concerns and facilitate collaborative and multi-agency action to support the individual wellbeing and safety of students, and our community.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals to develop, deliver, and maintain a range of high-quality, evidenced-based, and compliant services, interventions, initiatives and campaigns, policies, procedures.
  • Deliver and maintain training throughout the academic year, ensuring the University meets its legislative and regulatory obligations, strategic aims, and mission.

We are looking for a Mental Health Advice Manager with the following:

  • Experience of working with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties in a secondary or tertiary mental health setting or in social services.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working within Higher Education mental health, disability or equivalent support services.
  • Professional qualification and current UK registration in clinical psychology, mental health nursing or mental health/clinical social work.
