Description

Better Days Integrated Programs, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works toward a world where behavioral health disorders are not a limit to achieving a meaningful life in the community. We envision being an essential member of a community network that helps prevent behavioral health disorders and provides the care and support people need to lead healthy, productive lives.
Under general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Therapeutic Boxing Coach will provide boxing training for participants, both adult and youth classes, and assist with the activities of the Therapeutic Boxing Program. The Therapeutic Boxing Coach is responsible for training individuals in boxing with a mindfulness approach. Coaches will receive training on understanding trauma, mindfulness and a variety of grounding techniques. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for this position.
· Will work in collaboration with a Therapist for individual and group sessions. Will document client progress after each session.
· Review and implement boxing/athletics techniques and curriculum
· Maintain record of participant attendance
· Create personalized workout routines
· Set-up/Break-down session area
· Follow health and safety guidelines
· Extensive travel is an essential part of this position

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Required)
· U.S.A. Boxing Coach Certification (preferred)
· First Aid, CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens Certified; or must acquire within six months of employment
· Personal Training certification (Preferred)
· Bi-lingual Spanish speaking (Preferred)
· Valid Driver’s License (Required)
· US work authorization (Required)

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
· Excellent self-management skills and detail-oriented
· Proficiency at computer required
· Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
· Ability to create, compose and edit written materials

PREFERRED SKILLS

· Experience working with children and clients with autism or learning disabilities
· Experience working at schools or non-profits
· Experience working with adults with mental health disorders and a history of substance abuse
· Experience with extensive and detail-oriented documentation

Responsibilities

· Assemble and disassemble equipment in preparation for activities and events; maintain equipment and facilities in clean and safe condition

· Interact with public, community resource agencies and other organizations to promote athletic activities
· Participate in staff development meetings and in quality-of-care activities on a regular basis
· Interact with co-workers and organizational staff in a collaborative and customer service-oriented manner
