Qualifications required

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse - NMC
  • BSc or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of providing supervision
  • Teaching / Mentoring experience and /or qualification Experience
  • Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence in all aspects of the roleAlthough not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work as part of and lead the Mental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.
  • Provide clinical leadership and management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
  • Establish inter-agency working where necessary to ensure good communication increases quality of care for patients.
  • Ensuring that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
  • Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
  • Actively participate with the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clear for clinicians
  • Ensuring all complaints / concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
  • Nurse lead treatment or care within mental health
  • Confirm waiting list are well managed ensuring minimal waiting times for patientsMedicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration
